GRAPHITE AND GRAPHITE/TL-POLYIMIDE™ FERRULES* | More Information |
---|---|
Quadrex offers a complete range of graphite, graphite/TL-Polyimide™, and graphite-Vespel™ ferrules for capillary column installation which offer a reliable gas tight seal and are specifically designed for use in your GC. Standard 1/16″ ferrules are available for the most popular GCs such as HP-5890 and 6890s, Varian, Perkin Elmer, Shimadzu, Finnegan and others. Ferrules for 1/8″ fittings and reducing ferrules (1/8″ to 1/16″) and two-holed ferrules are also available. | |
INJECTOR PORT LINERS | More Information |
All injection port liners are polysiloxane deactivated and ready for use (other deactivation available, inquiry for details). They are manufactured to exacting tolerances and come in various configurations for many popular GCs. Guaranteed inert for phenols, organic acids and bases. | |
SEPTA | More Information |
Advances in GC techniques can lead to higher injection port temperatures. At elevated temperatures, septa can stick to the injection port hardware or harden causing leaks which can lead to poor reproducibility. Septa coring is also a problem which results in debris entering the injector liner and possibly even the capillary column itself. Today’s septa technology provides outstanding mechanical properties for repeated manual or autosampler injections, and chemical properties which give ideal low bleed characteristics for elevated temperature use. | |
CARRIER GAS TRAPS AND FILTERS | More Information |
Today’s GC column systems rely on the highest purity carrier gases in order to avoid interference’s with the chromatography. To achieve this it is important to filter out any contaminants that may be present in your compressed gas sources. Individual gas purifiers are available to filter the contaminants commonly found in compressed gas cylinders. All of the following gas purifiers are produced using the finest grade of adsorbent media. The housings are constructed with strength, durability and simplicity of design in mind. All traps and filters are supplied with nickel plated end fittings in either 1/8″ or 1/4″ sizes. |

HOT TIP:
HARD YET PLIABLE, GRAPHITE-VESPEL FERRULES CAN BE RE-USED UP TO 6 OR MORE TIMES BEFORE REQUIRING REPLACEMENT. OVER TIGHTENING ANY FERRULE WILL CAUSE DEFORMITY AND SHORTEN THE FERRULE LIFETIME.
GC CONSUMABLES – 1/16″ FERRULES AND 1/8″ REDUCING FERRULES
Quadrex offers a complete range of graphite and graphite/TL-Polyimide™ ferrules for capillary column installation which offer a reliable gas tight seal and are specifically designed for use in your GC. When choosing the ferrules you need, remember that there really isn’t a “standard” ferrule or GC fitting. Most instrument manufacturers and ferrule suppliers have their own particular designs and dimensions for these components, so be sure you’re selecting the ferrules which were designed for your particular GC. This will insure that your column installation will be leak-free.

GC CONSUMABLES – INJECTOR PORT LINERS
Capillary injector port liners are a critical part of the capillary column system. They provide a clean, non-adsorptive injection zone which should be replaced regularly to avoid contamination from non-volatiles which can be deposited onto the capillary column. All injection port liners produced from precision borosilicate glass (quartz where noted) and are polysiloxane deactivated and ready for use. They are manufactured to exacting tolerances and come in various configurations for many popular GCs. Guaranteed inert for phenols, organic acids and bases.
HOT TIP:
TO BE SURE YOU HAVE CLEAN INJECTOR SYSTEM, CHECK YOUR LINERS WEEKLY, OR MORE FREQUENTLY IF RUNNING DIRTY SAMPLES.
- INJECTOR LINERS FOR AGILENT GCs
- INJECTOR LINERS FOR PERKIN ELMER GCs
- INJECTOR LINERS FOR VARIAN GCs
SEPTA
Advances in GC techniques can lead to higher injection port temperatures. At elevated temperatures, septa can stick to the injection port hardware or harden causing leaks which can lead to poor reproducibility. Septa coring is also a problem which results in debris entering the injector liner and possibly even the capillary column itself. Today’s septa technology provides outstanding mechanical properties for repeated manual or autosampler injections, and chemical properties which give ideal low bleed characteristics for elevated temperature use.
HOT TIP:
ALL SEPTA ARE PACKED IN CLEANED GLASS BOTTLES TO MAINTAIN PURITY. NEVER HANDLE SEPTA WITH YOUR FINGERS – THE OILS ON YOUR SKIN MAY CONTAMINATE THE INLET. ALWAYS USE TWEEZERS WHEN HANDLING AND INSTALLING SEPTA.
